I like having the selection that I get because I can get different points of view on the same stories.

Great app, very customizable to your tastes.
I enjoy the ease of use and the wide choice of articles available!
Ive used quite a few news apps before. This one is by far the best! Customizable, convenient, one-stop-shop, simply amazing. Not one day goes by without using it!
The APP is remaining 5 stars and my relaxation at the end of a long day of business. Your version updates are good improvements. You still rate a 5 for data update from the sources who post. I found the Topic Search command and have placed you back as a 5 start APP (you are). I still would like to see an article search depending on how long you keep your posts by the many companies who submit to your APP. I previously stated "Try not to change too much - etc..." But I must say that a keyword search function for articles would be a great tool for your site to be of more use when I dont have time to scroll through all the articles to the one I am looking for.
My friends advice me this app for news. It is so great. It has many resources.
I love News Republic and Appy Geek (from News Rep too). Really important alerts.
I use this app on a daily basis to keep up with world events. I highly recommend this app.
Continually updating on the topics I chose to know.
This app is reliable, and features a good mix of stories and sources. New stories are added at a reasonable rate, so it doesnt get stale. One of my favorite news feeds, I read it every day.
This is my favorite news app, and I use a lot of them. It has a very nice, smooth, interface that enables you to scroll quickly to reach the articles you want and then swipe to get to the next one immediately. Its clean without a lot of extra stuff cluttering the screen. What makes this a truly fantastic app is that you can customize the content, the news sources, and also the order in which content appears on your homepage. No other app does all this. Very nice indeed! So So Content. While this app has numerous providers, it lacks some very significant ones such as ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Politico, and many others. I find myself turning to Smart News more often because the stories are more interesting. Best Interface. The homepage has all of the major sections with the lead stories right there. I dont have to hunt for the section I want to start with, and I dont have to depend on the app deciding for me what I want to see first. This is a great system. Still Needs Work. If youre on the home screen you can get to anything fairly easily, but if youre anywhere else, you have to tap the back arrow repeatedly to get back to the home screen. They also removed the home button which previously allowed you to move back to the top level immediately. Inexplicably, the settings button and the "connections" button, however, are always available. The home button is one most people probably use continually every day, but the settings button is something one uses rarely. For most people, once you have the settings the way you wish, you forget about them. The connections button is the little logo at the top right that shows you how your topic is connected to other topics. Personally, I never use it. Perhaps others do, but I cannot see how that would be more important than a home button. Im not sure what they were thinking… The new "My News" appears to be just another variation of the digest screen which still remains. Im not sure why we need two versions of this. The floating share icon appears when you scroll the top sharing buttons out of sight, but again its totally unnecessary as most articles have sharing buttons built into them already. In fact, rather than leaving the sharing button at the bottom out of the way, they have sharing buttons at the top and bottom. And theyre not small. They occupy about a half inch of the screen, and theres a button for Facebook, Twitter, and email, and then another button that allows you to share with any of those. That last button does everything the previous three do and then some, so again its a complete waste of screen real estate. Really all that is needed is one share button. If the developers would understand that what people want to do is read the news first and foremost, they would eliminate all of those buttons and simply replace them with one discrete button on the top menu bar. There are a few improvements that I would like to see: First, add a few more conservative news outlets since most of the current ones are on the liberal side. Second, Restore the Home Button! Third, delete the floating share icon. Fourth, add major media outlets if possible.
Thanks, and keep the good work coming please!
The app used to be great, articles and that I chose an interest in come in my email everyday like clockwork...and this is where it fails. For some reason, where it didnt used to, (iPhone specific, os x and iPad are fine) it will only open one article a day and then block the content of anything over that one freebie. It tells you to open the article in the News Republic official app if you want to view the article, and so, super annoyed that you have to open a secondary app to view what used to be just fine in safari, you click on "open in News Republic" and expect it to actually open the News Republic app....instead it takes you to the apple store app and asks you to download the News Republic app....except that it already IS downloaded and long story short...you never get to see your article unless you want to drag out a laptop/desktop or the iPad. Not cool. Whats the point of the News Republic app if it doesnt function? Too bad. I really like the articles and daily emails, best news app Ive seen yet...except this little glitch that doesnt let you view them from an iPhone.
very good
Best app for all things news. Period.
This is one of the only places that I get my news from (and one of fewer still that I trust) thanks guys!
Awesome app amazing to just browse through and within a few minutes every morning I know the biggest issues and happenings gong on in the world
I read it everyday.
Im an RSS news junkie and was excited to try your app. The email digests I get are good and often have links to articles I want to read. So far so good. But everything breaks down because the links take me to Safari which blocks the content. And from there, good luck having the app open in the right article. Really, by now you should have figured it out. I will probably delete if this isnt fixed soon.
I have to honestly say this apps is the best news app I had on my phone. I can customize the topics I want to read from politics, financial, technology to sports. You can read a lot of articles in short period of time which I tend to do when I wait for airplane to take off or wait in line for food or before get off your bed in the morning. However, there is one huge problem I recognize when I used this app. As you swipe through the articles, the phone gets hot. Overtime, your iPhone battery dead. It took an hour or two to charge the phone but it took only 10 to 20 mins to drain out your batter. If you dont use your phone at all it still dies within two hours. I love this apps but is this worth it to kill you phone battery?
